Panumbra was a screwed up game run by a screwed up company. Its trials and tribulations were typical of the Tech Bubble, a time when there were absurdly high Internet ad rates and online game company expansion plans fueled by the revenues from those rates. It was also a time when there were far more game news and resources websites for browser-based games than there are now. Nowadays, such websites are not much more than directories of games whereas back then there was real reporting, solid reviews and good interviews as well.
That was the world of Panumbra and of the Shareplay company that we will be investigating in this blog.
